The basic ideology of the post-avantgarde can be found in the revolutionary
spirit of the early 20th century and the destruction of the art notions
of the bourgeoisie. The photographs transport these century-old ideals
into the the 21st century and the new media. The avantgarde must reinvent
itself also in the postmodern world. The genre of the abstract photograph
is problematic because of its objective and realistic character. The
post-avantgarde photographs claim that the photograph is absolutely
abstract if the subject matter is of a non-descriptive nature. However,
this does not exclude realism as the post-avantgarde photographs represent
the metaphysics of photography.
